IdreData will shortly release an OpenEdit plugin for managing Irritum style web applications.

Irritum style web applications are n-tier distributed systems and are characterized by a very clear separation of presentation logic and actual application/business logic. The plugin will manage the deployment parameters and support functions for a deployment.

The first release will provide a base irritum module and related classed that web developers should derive their modules from and use. The base module will give them access to application specific service, deployment and management  features such as naming contexts and distribution servers. 

A deployment can be administered using the user interfaces provided by the plugin that manage system and multiple application XML configuration files. This means that all configurations can be packaged in the distributions as well.

This plugin will be released under GPL v3.
